2018

Next in the series of catching up on my year in review posts... 2018! Using photos I've saved to jog my memory - here's a summary of what happened in 2018.
Emma got her own apartment, broke up with her boyfriend, and started a new job. Ethan worked at Top Golf, and Matt changed jobs this year to Star Financial Bank. I started an online pet clothes business in the fall called Parker & Gigi and after months of feeling pressured and unsuccessful at it, I closed it down and donated the leftover products to dog rescues.

January:
Ethan performed guitar and singing at the guitar concert. It was super impressive!

February: I went to Disneyworld and ran the Princess Half Marathon with Dana and Nikki.

April:
Ethan got his senior pictures taken, and went to his senior prom. Matt and I went to the Smiley Adult Prom this year again, too.

May:
There were lots of senior activities for Ethan this month. Lots of final concerts, and a send off at the orchestra concert for all the seniors, including little videos of each senior.
There was also a shooting at a Noblesville school this month. It led to a lock down of the high school, where Ethan was, and hours of fear and worry. He was able to text us as they had him and the other students hide in closets, barricade doors, etc. Thankfully, though two people were injured, no one was killed.
Emma turned 21, and we celebrated with a lunch out, and then a party at a club with bottle service.

June:
Ethan graduated high school! We had a big open house, and later that month, he was already at orientation for Ball State.

July:
Ethan went to Maine with Ethan Case. Emma and I went to a Halsey concert. Ethan, Matt and I made a galaxy cake.

August:
Ethan, Emma, Matt and I went to Clearwater, Florida for a couple of days, and then met Marta and Brianna in Port Canaveral to embark on a four day cruise to Cuba and Key West! It was the first cruise for most of us, and we really enjoyed it! We were so excited to see Cuba, since most Americans haven't been able to visit, and not long after our trip, access was restricted again. We gambled in the casino (Ethan won big!), sang karaoke, made new friends, smoked cigars and drank cuban rum, lounged by the pool, and watched dolphins swim beside the boat from our balcony.

When we got back from the trip, we moved Ethan into his dorm room and he started his first year of college!

September:
Matt and I got new countertops and did our own tile backsplash. We started touring homes for sale in Broad Ripple which is where we decided to move. One Sunday, we visited an open house, fell in love, and wrote an offer that night and put our house on the market a week later.

Ethan and I went to the Taylor Swift concert. Late in the month, Matt and I went to Vancouver. I tagged along on his trip with the CFA Society, and we were able to extend it a couple of days so we could sightsee together. We loved Vancouver- it was beautiful. We had fun riding rented bikes and exploring the city on foot. While Matt was in his conference during the day, I studied for the real estate exam I'd registered for a month prior. I decided to sell real estate on the side, and had hoped to sell/buy our own houses, but we found one we loved before I was able to complete it.

October:
We celebrated Ethan's birthday, listed our house for sale, and held our annual Halloween party.

November:
We worked on getting settled into our new house. I traveled a lot for work. We attended some fundraising galas. We hosted Thanksgiving at our new house with Marta and Bri.

December:
Marta and Bri and the kids were all here for Christmas at our new house. We had brunch at Petit Chou and cake at Cake Bake shop to show everyone around our new neighborhood.
